Hey everyone! I can’t believe we’re all going to be back at school within the week, where did the summer go?

So this summer I’ve been doing a crazy mixture of things. I started off the summer at home in Toronto, working in a laboratory at a biotechnology company. It was a bit slow, but it was good to work in a research setting.

 

On the safari I went on, we got to watch this female lion hunt impala (which are antelope type animals)

Then, for the month of June I went to Iringa, Tanzania for a program that allows students to shadow doctors and nurses in local hospitals. I was allowed to insert catheters, assist in minor procedures, receive a baby during a c-section, and draw blood. This was probably the most eye-opening experience I’ve ever had, especially after seeing the conditions that these people lived in. Oh, and of

course, one of my flights happened to stop in Zurich on the way to Tanzania, so I visited Phoebe and her family for a few days which was super fun! I cannot wait to see everyone!
