First Win Against Aeros…Coach UK Human Zamboni

Tara Tomimoto Earns Hard Hat First Game Back in 1.5 Years from Concussion

Our first exhibition game of the year was last Saturday against the Toronto Aeros, one of the top high school teams in North America. We didn’t have too much preparation time as we had one week of practices getting a feel for the puck and learning our systems. We came out flying for the game only allowing the Aeros to have 3 shots on net in the first period. Everyone played well, and it feels great getting our first win early on. We

had Sunday off, and were back at it in the weight room/ice on Monday in preparation for our long road trip starting Thursday. We will bus out to Pittsburgh Thursday afternoon to play Robert Morris Friday and then busing to Rochester to play RIT Saturday. Excited for the first roadie with the team and to get this season rolling!

On a haha note, prior to yesterdays practice, both zamboni’s were having difficulty starting up so Coach UK and several players brought out the squeegees and were human zamboni’s for a few minutes. Not a site you see everyday. Practice was tough adding that bit of adversity with no ice cut after a Yale Men’s practice. Tara Tomimoto had the best toe-pick of the night when she was

in slap shot mode, caught an edge and face planted. It was a beauty.
