One Month Break, Team International Wins

December 3rd was our last game for this first half of the season. We played Quinnipiac very tough and gave up the lead with about 4 minutes left in the game. Unfortunately Quinnipiac scored in OT too to win this heartbreaking game. Even though we lost, we are proud of our efforts this game and is a positive thing we can take with us as we head into our one month hiatus as we have our next game January 4th against Brown here at Ingalls Rink.

Both last week and this week we have had reading period. The time here at Yale where we have 2 weeks with no regular classes, but a time to study, do projects, and write exams. Most of us will be heading home by this Friday. We have 10 days off until we need to report back December 28th. For those that have made it to practice have had a blast. We have been playing various small games and of course had to have our traditional USA vs. Team International Game where all the players/coaches from the US have a competitive game against players/coaches from Canada and in head Coach UK’s case, Sweden. Coach Ardito played with Team International due to the amount of injuries that many of Team International players suffered in our Yale season.

Team International came back from a 0-5 deficit to beat team USA 13-10 2nd year in a row. The scoring was so high because each regulation goal is 2 points and we also did a team shootout at the end where each point was worth 1.

This past Monday two of our freshmen, Steph Mock and Kelsey Summers, dressed in goalie gear, while our freshmen goalie, Jaimie Leonoff, skated out.
