Big OT Win…Fall Break

Our first game this past weekend we played St. Lawrence. As far as scoring opportunities go, we had our most we’ve had all year this game. The fact that we didn’t burry the puck during our opportunities coupled with a few lapses defensively eventually cost us the game. We needed to put that game behind us very quickly because we had another league opponent, Clarkson University the next day.

We had a team breakfast in the morning followed by a team building activity. We were put into groups of 5 and were blindfolded with prewrap. With 12 ft. rope we needed to put it into a square shape. The team of 5 that did this the quickest were the winners. There were some great laughs and record time of 1min 22. seconds turned out to be the winning team led by freshmen Jenna Ciotti.

After our game-day routine with pre-game meal, scouting meeting/video, and warm-up we were ready. We started the game off flat a bit, but it eventually because a much more even back to back game. Alyssa Zupon put us on the board first with a nice tip power play goal from defensemen Tara Tomimoto. Senior forward Bray Ketchum scored a diving off the crossbar tying goal with only minutes remaining to bring the game into OT. Another upperclassman, junior Aleca Hughes buried a top shelf cookie goal on a high walkout to end the game. Needless to say, we were all smiles! Not only did we win in OT, but we have a week off school for Fall Break.

There are many team activities set in place for the week. Pictures and updates are soon to come!
